People say that politics isn’t funny. Those people are f*cking wrong.

Memes are not a new phenomenon. It’s a concept as old as inside jokes, symbolism, or even common language. It’s how people from all backgrounds associate topical issues with real life and humor. That’s why it’s so effective.

Politics can be serious business, but when a campaign leans too heavily into the serious aspect of communications, they come off cold and distant. Memes and a strong digital presence allow you to become relatable and thus approachable to a wider audience.

Internet trends have changed.

Over the last 10 years, use of Facebook as their sole social media platform has dropped from 71% of American teens to only 32%.

Approximately 26% of people age 18-29, received information about the 2020 election via TikTok. Ages 18 and 19, that number leaps up to 47%.

The average millennial looks at 20-30 memes every day, and a reported 75% of 13-36 year olds share memes online.

In 2021, Instagram users shared a million memes a day.

“Memes”

- Jon Ossoff, 2021

Meme that reads "before memes, guys used to sit around in a circle and loudly quote Anchorman at each other for literal years."

Memes are a point of entry into youth internet culture—and they are extremely effective.

  • Click-through-rates (CTR) of memes in email campaigns are 14% higher than traditional email marketing.

  • Memes have about ten times more reach, with 60% percent organic engagement than regular marketing graphics.

Case Studies

A series of variations on the Dark Brandon meme, including lines like "Tax cuts for yacht owners? Good luck with that champ."
  1. Dark Brandon

During the early stages of the 2024 election cycle, Republicans leaned into the use of the phrase “Let’s Go Brandon” as a euphemism for “F*ck Joe Biden.” Through the power of internet meme culture, the phrase was turned on its head via “Dark Brandon,” which positively demonstrated the achievements of the Biden Administration towards helping working families.

This success of the meme was validated further when it became a legitimate aspect of the campaign’s messaging tactics, even becoming their best-selling merch that helped to further generate funds for their efforts.

2. Scale to Win

Scale to Win wanted to connect with our audience, which consists of political operatives and young adults involved in political work across the country. As Organizer Memes, we served as trusted messengers, skilled at vetting political tools and speaking the language of both young adults and political professionals.

Over several months, we collaborated with multiple staff members at Scale to Win. This led to content creation promoting their platform, which we shared on Organizer Memes' social media and added a direct link to Scale to Win on our Linktree.

Thanks to the long-term nature of the partnership, we could easily implement adjustments or new features into our digital plan as they arose. The flexibility of this collaboration allowed for seamless updates to the contract.

Scale to Win saw an increase in their client base, with Organizer Memes credited as a key factor in their decision to collaborate.

Turn it Blue Digital

“Increase your online reach without giving Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk your money!”

Turn it Blue Digital helps organizations find new audiences within the digital sphere without having to necessarily pay the tech giants and CEO’s that run social media platforms in order to do so.

We were asked to collaborate with Turn it Blue as a trusted messenger within the space of younger political operatives with major influence within campaigns and nonprofits around the country.

Turn it Blue Digital increased its pool of potential clients by tapping into memes that maintained their unique voice while conveying the nature of their services.
